                 About the Author Widget for Blogspot

 

  On Blogspot, the Profile gadget allows you to add author information to your blog in the form of a sidebar widget. Adding an "About the Author" section gives first-time visitors a simple way to find basic information such as who you are and what experience or qualifications you possess that make you an authority on your blog's topic. Install the Profile gadget to add an "About the Author" section to your blog.

 

Step 1
Navigate to Blogspot.com in your browser. Enter the email address and password associated with your Blogspot account to continue to the Dashboard.
Step 2
Click the down-facing arrow next to the "View Blog" button, and select "Layout" on the pull-down menu.
Step 3
Click "Add a Gadget" on the right side of the Layout page. This displays a new window titled "Add a Gadget."
Step 4
Scroll to the bottom of the "Add a Gadget" window and click the "+" icon next to the "Profile" gadget.
Step 5
Type "About the Author" in the "Title" field at the top of the window.
Step 6
Remove the check from the "Share My Profile" box if you do not want the widget to contain a like to your Blogspot profile.
Step 7
Type your name or the name of your blog in the "Name" field.
Step 8
Type information in the "Description" field explaining who you are and the topics your blog covers.
Step 9
Click the "Show on This Blog" check box next to "Location" if you want the "About the Author" widget to display information regarding your location.
Step 10
Complete the fields under "Location" by adding your city, state and country. You can leave any of these fields empty if desired.
Step 11
Click "Save" to add the widget to your blog
